A Day Outside

We have had a very rainy start to our summer here on Long Island. This weekend was fortunately a great weekend to be outside, and course we had a family celebration. Worth every minute of being away from home. So, today was a day to catch up. First thing we did was go to the beach! No reason to work when we could play all morning. It was perfect. After a wonderful picnic lunch on the beach we headed home for time in the garden. This time of the summer seems to be about waiting. Don't get me wrong, we still have a few strawberries ripening, and lettuce is keeping us well nurished. And while we appreciate what we have, we are trying to be patient for all the other good, good food on its way.

It is a perfect day to be outside, so I better get back...
